Lending on Kiva is remarkably easy. Simply go to the Kiva website, and click on LEND. Have a credit card handy and I’ve included some directions below in case you get stuck!
Click here to lend to clients of Manuela Ramos, the MFI with whom I will be working! It is possible that Kiva’s site won’t have available loans when you log in. As Kiva is rapidly growing, the demand often exceeds the supply of the loans, which is not the worst problem to have! If there are no loans when you check the site, fear not, just keep checking in the mornings and you’ll find your connection with an entrepreneur.
Lending Directions:
1. Click the “Lend” button at the top of the Kiva home page. You will be taken to the businesses In need.
2. Select an entrepreneur to whom you would like to lend and click “Lend $25″ to the right of the business description.
3. Add additional loans to your basket or click “Loan Added! Checkout.”
4. Review your Basket: If you want to change the amount you wish to lend, select the amount in the drop down menu and click “Update” and then click “Continue.”
5. Choose a password to create an account, or log into your Kiva account.
6. Make an optional donation to Kiva’s operational expenses or click “No Thanks.”
7. Pay for the loan through PayPal’s secure website.
8. Receive emails from Kiva as your loan is repaid and continue to re-lend the same funds through Kiva.
